Received this item via FedEx (which was the carrier this time for Amazon's free Super Saver shpg), on Tuesday 11/24/2009, after ordering it online at 3:00am EST on Sunday, 11/22/2009, so the delivery service was excellent.
This case is superb in construction. The materials, assembly, and finish appear first rate. Cutouts are clean, interior sub-assemblies are snug with no cheesy looseness or mismatches. Even the power button switch feels solid. Once the build is done I'll rate the "Ease of Installation", but considering that Velocity Micro supplies stand-offs, screws, (and the wiring for the 3 fans, power button, USB, Firewire, mic, media card reader, and headphones are already installed), and both sides of the case and the front panel are removable for full interior access, I am not anticipating any supplier-fault difficulties. Considering the prices for other all-metal cases run as much as $175 more than this item, I must say that I am positively impressed with the quality of the Velocity Micro GX2-W computer case.
As promised, I'm returning after the build to rate the "ease of installation". I literally had no problems installing or routing cables from the Corsair 750W PSU to the MSI ATX X-58 motherboard, the dual WD SATA HDs, and the dual Samsung SATA 22X DVD-RWs. There was room inside the case to install 6 X 2GB Corsair DIMMs (w/RAM cooler), the Cooler Master V8 for the CPU, and the dual PNY GTS-250 GPUs. There is no vibration from the fans, and though with a total of 8 fans in the case (including the 2-40mm built into the RAM cooler and the fans in each of the video cards), sound is easily at an acceptable level. There have been no problems after 2 months operation with any of the external sockets (USB, Firewire, mic), or the internal terminals on the supplied wiring. I have no complaints with this case and intend to use it again even if I have to drill my own holes in a few years to mount the next M.B.
A word on the styling, which appeals to me. The full side window is a nice plus since it allows me to easily check visually for any possibility of a fan failure, detached connection, etc. The unpainted, all-aluminum panels are an excellent heat radiator, and even the cushioned, large diameter feet, (which lift the case a half-inch off the supporting surface), contribute to heat dissipation from the underside. Personally, I like the unembellished, boxy form. It may seem retro compared to more streamlined, injection molded plastic housings, but to me it says solid, functional, and no BS frills. |
Georgeous case!

| This is the same case VM uses to build it's high end computer systems. I'm going to get one when it build my next rig. It has 2 x 120mm fans in the front, and is all aluminum. I like that it's very conservative looking, but it's not. |
Won't find a better case.

| Not to spend a lot of time on this review, but the case is wonderful, comes with fans, side mount drives with rubber connectors, see through side, and you can easily open case without any tools. Also comes with digital card reader built in. I highly recommend the case. |

| I love this case! Good price, looks great, all aluminum, stays cool.I have two 10 1/2" video cards fit perfectly; longer than that would be a problem. Beware 1 star removed ,my front panel cables are very short don't reach my motherboard I had to get extension cables. Otherwise very well built solid case. |
